Why 55 °C, and not a degree more

Hot towels feel good in a narrow band. Below it they go tepid before they reach your face. Above it they scald. The heat exchanger holds the towel inside that band and shuts off the moment it leaves.

A thermal cut-out interrupts the circuit if the chamber ever exceeds its ceiling, and the unit stops heating after 30 minutes without use.

How it works

Order matters here — the tablet has to meet water that is already at temperature, which is why the machine pre-heats before it releases anything.

STEP 01

Fill the tank

Lift the 500 ml tank off the back and fill it with purified or filtered water. That is roughly 40 towels between refills.

STEP 02

Drop in a tablet

Compressed plant-fiber tablets stack in the magazine. Load up to ten at a time and the machine feeds them one by one.

STEP 03

Press once

A short press starts the cycle. Water hits the tablet, it unfurls, and the element brings it to temperature in about five seconds.

STEP 04

Take the towel

It ejects onto the tray, warm and damp, ready to use. Nothing to wring out, nothing to touch but the towel you are about to use.

Anything that holds warm water needs a routine. Ours is short, and the machine reminds you when it is due.

Descale monthly

Run a tank of half water, half white vinegar through two cycles, then two tanks of clean water. The display shows a descale prompt every 30 uses.

Empty the tank between uses

Do not leave standing water for more than 24 hours. Rinse the tank and leave the lid off to dry — it is the single biggest factor in how the towels smell.

Adult supervision

The outlet dispenses at 55 °C. Keep the unit out of reach of small children and check the towel against your wrist before using it on a baby or a pet.
